Crazy Hound Kennels is located on the prairie in Martin South Dakota. The main house and kennel sits on 80+ acres. There will soon be a 3 bedroom 2 bath "handler house" ready for use. We converted our old horse barn into an indoor/outdoor kennel facility, and while it is not state of the art, it is clean, functional and safe for ALL dogs. We plan to build a new kennel, but are remodeling the "old farmhouse" first. We have several areas for working and training dogs. They include: Vehicle Search Area Small "Disaster" Pile 16,000 square foot School building and a 4 acre training field (classrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, showers, gymnasium ect.....) We also have access to thousands or acres of land for wilderness SAR training. A 2 hour drive will take you to the beginning of the Beautiful Black Hills if you choose to spend a day or two sightseeing...home of Deadwood, Spearfish Canyon, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Wounded Knee, Custer State Park and many other historical places to stop and take a look at. Martin is a small rural town and what we lack for as far as Wal-Mart, we make up for in lots of training for the handlers and dogs. |
